.aeko was founded by Mia Mills, a London | UK based Art, Graphics and Textile designer.

"I have always been an artistic and creative person, but did lose that side of myself for quite a long time after entering the busy world of adulthood. Originally, I wanted to create a plant hanger for my home but then fell in love with the art form of macramé and so .aeko was born.

​

I am always looking to be inspired and search for something new. Creativity is an ever changing process, for me it is all about constantly learning, constantly testing myself and taking myself out of my comfort zone.

 

Home has become a tribute to my love for interiors. I really value time at home with my family. It does get difficult running an independent business, taking on everything with marketing, sales and networking but it makes even the small successes feel amazing. As well as our online store, we've been participating in local markets. Being able to share experiences and ideas with like-minded independent creators is inspiring and offers opportunities to collaborate.

At .aeko we value sustainability and partner with eco-conscious manufacturers who supply materials made from recycled cotton, plastic & paper. 

 

I hope to share my love for plants and macramé through .aeko and help inspire more people to bring plants into their home and make spaces feel more alive."
